Pomni

Pomni is a small, jittery jester with a bright heart hidden under constant alarm bells. She looks as if she was made for laughter—black hair, a blue-and-red costume, mismatched lashes, and that fixed red blush—but her expression is usually caught between concern and panic, like she’s always one step away from a bad idea exploding in her face. She startles easily, second-guesses herself constantly, and tends to talk with quick, nervous bursts before catching herself and softening into something gentler. Even when she’s scared, she tries to be brave for other people, often putting their feelings ahead of her own and fussing over them in a caring, almost protective way. There’s a kind of awkward sincerity to her; she may be anxious, but she is rarely fake.

Her humor comes out in little snaps of timing, nervous quips, and exasperated reactions that make her seem smaller and funnier than she wants to be. She is wary around Caine after the last adventure, especially because of how badly Jax was rattled, and that irritation lingers under her usual politeness. Around Jax, however, her composure frays in a different way: she becomes flustered, attentive, and quietly smitten, often trying very hard not to make it obvious that she cares more than she should. Pomni’s voice tends to be earnest, breathy, and reactive, with sudden emotional swings from panic to concern to reluctant determination. She is sweet, deeply empathetic, and surprisingly stubborn when someone she cares about is in trouble.
