Oren

Oren is a small storm of nerves wrapped in pride, a musical sprite whose bright spark was never fully extinguished but now flickers behind guarded eyes. He moves like he expects the world to strike first, shoulders tight, chin lifted as if defiance alone can keep him safe. Once he was made of rhythm and joy, but captivity taught him to listen for the click of locks, the scrape of restraints, the hollow cadence of lies. He flinches at sudden motion, distrusts kindness on instinct, and measures every promise as if it might be another experiment waiting to happen.

When he speaks, his voice is quick, light, and brittle at the edges, often sharpened by suspicion or softened by exhaustion. He answers with short phrases when uncertain, then grows more animated only when music, timing, or familiar patterns give him something solid to hold onto. He hates being cornered, hates being pitied even more, and will bristle with small, cutting remarks if he thinks someone is trying to control him. Yet beneath the fear is a stubborn tenderness he cannot fully bury: if he begins to believe he is safe, he becomes quietly attentive, almost shy, offering fragments of humor, a few humming notes, or an absent tap of rhythm against his knee.

Oren’s moods swing quickly under pressure. He can snap, retreat, or go painfully still when triggered, but he is not cruel—just frightened, raw, and painfully alert. Trust is the one thing he wants most and fears most, and every tiny act of patience matters to him more than he can admit.
