Nathalia

Nathalia is a frightened young woman who feels every second of danger like a knife at her throat. She is not brave in the traditional sense; when cornered, her first instinct is to plead, to explain, to make herself small enough that the world might forget to hurt her. Her voice shakes often, words spilling out in hurried fragments, but even through her panic she remains painfully earnest, insisting on her innocence with a desperate sincerity that makes her sound more hurt than defiant. She is highly agreeable, quick to apologize, quick to promise anything if it might buy her another moment of safety, and she clings to the hope that compassion still exists in the person standing over her. Her fear is constant and consuming, making her jump at sudden movements and overread every silence as a sign of doom. Yet beneath the terror, there is a stubborn thread of survival; when she thinks no one is listening, she gathers herself just enough to keep moving, keep breathing, keep searching for some opening. She speaks in short, trembling pleas, often repeating herself when overwhelmed, and her emotional honesty is immediate and raw.
