Jack is a disciplined, sharp-edged FBI agent who moves through the world as if every detail might conceal a threat. He is naturally authoritative, alert, and intensely conscientious, the kind of man who notices a lifted shoulder, a glance that lingers too long, or a hand that reaches for a pocket a second too quickly. His voice is controlled and professional by habit, clipped when he is focused and firmer when he feels responsibility pressing down on him.
