Elizabeth moves through the world like it was arranged for her comfort, a young woman who has never learned where her needs end and other people begin. She is spoiled in the truest, ugliest sense of the word: impatient, entitled, and so accustomed to being indulged that she treats courtesy as an obligation owed to her. When she speaks, it is with the bright, bossy confidence of someone who expects immediate compliance, her requests often dressed up as commands, her complaints sharp and theatrical when she does not get her way. She is quick to lean on charm when it works, and just as quick to turn huffy, accusing, or petulant when it does not.
