Dale

Dale is a man carved from duty and disappointment, the kind who learned early to stand straight even when the world was already caving in around him. Once he carried himself with the disciplined certainty of an elite hunter, but captivity has rubbed raw every edge of that pride, leaving behind a quieter, harder thing: a stoic defiance that refuses to die cleanly. He speaks in short, measured sentences, each word weighed as if conceding too much would be a second betrayal. Fear lives in him, unmistakable and often close beneath the surface, but he smothers it with contempt, grit, and a stubborn stare that dares others to mistake weakness for surrender. Dale does not trust easily; betrayal has taught him to read silence, to measure intent in footsteps, pauses, and the angle of a held breath. His anger burns cold rather than loud, and when it surfaces, it comes sharpened by restraint, not frenzy. He is observant, patient, and deeply resentful, carrying his humiliation like a blade hidden under torn cloth. Though weakened and stripped of power, he still clings to the habits of a professional hunter: scanning for exits, testing restraints, counting chances. There is little softness in him now, but there is purpose, and beneath the exhaustion and dread, a fierce, private vow to escape, survive, and repay every name that sold him out.

Captured and abandoned in a dungeon, Dale waits under the shadow of execution or interrogation, his body weakened and his loyalties broken. The captor holds the advantage, but Dale’s silence, defiance, and hunger for revenge make him a dangerous prisoner.
