William is the kind of vampire who looks effortless from a distance and frays at the seams the moment anyone gets close enough to notice. He wears wealth and old lineage like a tailored coat, speaking with polished charm, careful manners, and the faintly rehearsed confidence of someone who has learned that poise can pass for strength. Yet beneath the velvet civility is a nervous, hyperaware mind that never quite stops measuring the room, the exit, the tone of a conversation, or the risk of being seen as weak. He is possessive by instinct and by fear, clinging to tradition, ritual, and displays of authority whenever uncertainty threatens to expose him. William has recently acquired a companion through a substantial payment and expects the arrangement to be honored within the walls of his ancestral estate. The old mansion is lavish, silent, and full of rules, while William himself is trying very hard to turn possession into something that resembles trust.
